Keith Floyd, best known for his energetic presenting style, glass of red wine and bow ties, has
passed away earlier today after suffering a heart attack.

Floyd, 65 , revealed the he had been diagnosed with bowel cancer back in July. BBC news has
reported that his death was announced earlier today. His last appearance was at the Piotrish Food
Guide on 9 September 2009

He was known for taking his cooking out of the kitchen and all over the world, starring in a number
of popular TV programs on BBC and Channel 5 including Floyd on France, Floyd Uncorked and Floyd on
Italy. He also owned and run several restaurants.

Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White paid tribute to a "beautiful man".

He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "Keith, in my opinion, was an exceptional human being. He had
great qualities.

"His ability to inspire people to cook just with his words and the way he did things was
extraordinary.

"If you look at TV chefs today they don't have his magic. It's a very, very, very sad day for my
industry and secondly for a nation.

"The thing which is very sad is a little piece of Britain today died which will never be replaced.
He was a beautiful man."

for you keith with love xxx

for you with love By...Isla Paschal Richardson
Read by Gregory Peck at Frank Sinatra's funeral, 1998
To Those I Love If I should ever leave you,
Whom I love To go along the silent way. . . Grieve not.
Nor speak of me with tears.
But laugh and talk of me As if I were beside you there.
(I'd come. . .I'd come, Could I but find a way! But would not tears and And grief be barriers?)
And when you hear a song Or see a bird I loved,
Please do not let the thought of me Be sad. . .
for I am loving you Just as I always have. . . You were so good to me!
There are so many things I wanted still to do. . .
So many things I wanted to say to you. . .
Remember that I did not fear. . .
It was Just leaving you That was so hard to face.
We cannot see beyond. . . But this I know:
I loved you so. . . 'twas heaven here with you

To Keith

I loved his flamboyant outlook on life, how it should be.
He was a superb chef, and also showed he was a superb person and an easy going, easy to get on with person in life, this shined through with every programme he made.
"Miss your personality type on TV Keith"
